Airbus

Over the course of its 40-year history, Airbus has put the highest priority on environmental performance. From the beginning, the company has adhered to its philosophy of increasing the number of passengers (or amount of freight) per flight, while reducing overall energy consumption and perceived noise.

With this goal in mind, Airbus has contributed significantly to the aviation industry's improved eco-efficiency over the past decades. In 1985, the average aircraft fleet consumed eight litres per passenger per 100 kilometres – today it is less than five litres, with an anticipated drop to three litres in 15-20 years.

The pioneering A320 – which Airbus introduced in 1988 – provides the lowest fuel burn per trip of any single aisle aircraft with more than 100 seats, and its 21st century flagship A380 has a relative fuel efficiency of 2.9 litres.

Airbus aircraft show significant progress in eco-efficiency across the board when compared to aircraft from the 1970s, including a 20-decibel decrease in noise with 75 per cent less noise annoyance. Air quality also has been drastically improved with a 90 per cent reduction in unburned hydrocarbon (HC) and smoke emissions, and a more than 50 per cent reduction in carbon monoxide.

Eco-efficiency is a top objective of Airbus, as well as a key element of its Vision 2020 guidelines – which outline the company's environmental approach, social practices and economic performance.

To measure its eco-efficiency and progress toward the company's environmental goals, Airbus has developed a methodology focusing on the "seven Ps" - products, processes, plants, people, profits, procurement and perception - each with its own measurement criteria and objectives.

Airbus also is part of the Geneva-based Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) – an independent coalition of member organisations and companies throughout the global air transport industry that advocates the environmentally responsible development of aviation infrastructure. Avec vingt années d'expérience, PRECIS SELECT S.A a pour essence de nombreux secteurs industriels de pointe de renommée internationale, tels que la chimie fine, le pharmaceutique, l'électronique, les traitements de surfaces et l'aéronautique. Le principe de sélection granulométrique et de calibration PrS à flux continu de gaz neutre Azote, Argon, ou Hélium en fonction des spécifications permet d'effectuer avec une Très Grande Précision et Répétabilité des sélections granulométriques et l'homogénéisation de tous types de poudres ultrafines sèches dont les dimensions minimales sont à l'échelle de l'Unité Micron. L e Concept PrS est l'aboutissement d'un travail d'avant-garde modélisé sur des outils performants de mécanique des fluides où l'usage de la loi de Bernoulli est un pilier. Ce procédé Unique au MONDE, dépourvu de toute turbine, a pour effet de mettre en dépression la chambre et le tamis en matière inoxydable. L'atmosphère contrôlée et le débit du gaz de purge sont assurés par une buse sonique orbitale permettant d'assurer un balayage linéaire de la surface du tamis de bas en haut. Le contrôle et la supervision de l'ensemble des séquences du procédé ainsi que le verrouillage des sécurités sont assurés par une automatisation et un protocole de communication très évolués. La combinaison des deux effets associés au design particulier de la chambre de répartition granulométrique a pour valeur ajoutée d'une part, d'assurer une sélection granulométrique d'une très grande précision mais aussi de préserver les propriétés physicochimiques et géométriques des poudres et matériaux « i.e. Poudres sphériques de Titane »

Quertech

Quertech Ingénierie a une expertise unique au monde, dans le domaine de l'interaction ion-matière appliqué au traitement des métaux et aux polymères. Ceci se traduit par une parfaite maîtrise de la production des ions, de leur accélération, puis de leur dosage pour atteindre des propriétés exceptionnelles en terme de dureté, de diminution du frottement, de résistance à la corrosion. Les profondeurs de traitement oscillent entre 1 et 10 microns. Il s'agit dans ce cas de ré-alliage, d'amorphisation, de réticulation ou de nano-restructuration de la surface. Le procédé se différencie des dépôts du fait d'une impossible délamination, d'un profil dégressif du gaz implanté, et d'une moindre exigence de préparation de la pièce à traiter. Pour cette dernière caractéristique, la société s'est vue récompensée par un prix valorisant ce procédé « vert » : le prix Pierre potier remis par le Prix Nobel de Chimie 2005, Yves chauvin.

Des métaux traités :

• l'Aluminium en dureté (+ 700 %), résistance à la corrosion, amélioration du frottement et de la ténacité (résistance à la fissuration) • le Titane en dureté : + 600%, et en frottement • les Aciers en dureté (Inox de 1800HV sur 10µm)

• le Cuivre rendu « inoxydable » : résistance à la corrosion très fortement augmentée tout en maintenant sa conductivité • l'Or en dureté : + 100 %, et en réduction de porosités • le Platine par amélioration de ses propriétés catalytiques • des polymères rendus électriquement conducteur • des élastomères performants produits sans traitement chimique

Son expertise a permis le traitement de pièces des industries de l'automobile, de l'aéronautique, de la plasturgie, de l'outillage de production, de l'horlogerie, de la prothèse, de la connectique…

La société a conduit avec succès une politique de « Try & Buy » sur pièces réelles pour convaincre les leaders de ces industries. Des études ont même été menées en vue de substituer un métal par un autre, moins onéreux. Quertech maintient de ce fait une forte activité de recherche en liaison avec les centres de recherche académiques (Ganil, CIMAP, ENSICAEN, Institut Lavoisier, INSA de Rennes) et les centres de R&D des industriels. La société compte à ce jour 17 personnes dont 2 docteurs et 5 doctorants en Physique. Elle a déposé 19 brevets.

Many current surface technologies apply coatings at temperatures which are too high for materials such as polymers or metals. Le centre technique des mécaniciens

Créé en 1965 à l'initiative des entreprises de la mécanique et de leur organisation professionnelle - qui le pilotent -, le Centre technique des industries mécaniques est placé sous la tutelle de l'État.

Technical centre for mechanical engineers Cetim - Technical centre for mechanical engineers (Centre technique des industries mécaniques) was created in 1965 on the initiative of mechanical engineering companies and their professional bodies (the latter pilot the organisation). It is placed under the official guardianship of the State.
